上海视觉艺术学院创办于2005年4月，前身为复旦大学上海视觉艺术学院，2013年4月转设为独立设置民办普通本科高校，更为现名，举办者为上海市教委财务与资产管理事务中心、复旦大学、上海文化广播影视集团、上海报业集团等6家国有企事业单位。2008年，学校获教育部批准实行提前自主招生，成为全国民办高校中首批获此资格的高校之一。2015年，QS世界大学学科排名中，学
